I Don’t Use Canva to Design

I don’t use Canva for designing.

Instead, I use it for:

✏️Client templates (biggest use case)

I create designs using Adobe software and then transfer them into Canva for easy client editing. I either upload something like a PDF or take exported individual assets and build them into a Canva doc (for example, import a background graphic from Illustrator and then overlay editable text boxes in Canva). This is especially useful for things like sales sheets, social media graphics, certificates, reports, digital badges, etc. — things that the client will need to customize and edit frequently without depending on me for every little change. The key is to lock certain background elements and add clear instructions for use.

🖥️ Easy Content Creation

This is helpful when creating a batch of content for weekly content and/or special campaigns. It’s especially helpful for creating motion graphics for reels, video posts, etc. Handy for personal, client, and business use.

🎆 AI image generation

For a quick image thumbnail, it only takes a few minutes to use Magic Media to generate a stylized image via a prompt (like the one in this post). Canva is one of many software platforms…
