From an idea to a design
How do you take an idea and create something visual from it? And not just any visual, but a good one?
Let’s say we’re creating a logo for a fictitious company:
“Vault Cybersecurity Systems”
You’re probably thinking of an image of a vault. That’s the most obvious visual solution. You could write the name of the company and add an icon of a vault to the left of it or above it **insert shoulder shrug 🤷🏽♀️**
But isn’t it possible to go beyond the literal? Sometimes that’s what you want, but sometimes you want something clever or conceptual.
Dig Deeper
Without any other context to go on, we can use keywords to create more visual cues:
✍🏽 Write any words related to “vault”
✍🏽 Jot down adjectives that describe a “vault”
✍🏽 Write how a vault could make some feel
Now, do the same for the words “cybersecurity” and “systems”…
If you can’t think of anything or want faster ideas, write similar prompts using ChatGPT or another AI platform to yield your results.
Narrow it Down
Highlight the words that spark inspiration for your logo in terms of its appearance, tone, or overall sentiments:
